Pink Sugar

Hello

Caring for your Permanent Makeup after your appointment is a very important part of this process. During our session will ensure that the pigment is implanted into your skin properly .  It is up to you to follow your Aftercare Instructions closely.   Giving your skin the best case scenario for healing conditions will help retain the pigment.

After Care Instructions...

Post Treatment Instructions for All Services:

Most important for all procedures!  Apply healing salve to the treatment area two times per day for one week. You may continue once a day during week two if the area feels very dry. Keeping the area soothed and protected is important for color retention. The ointment is used to prevent infection as well.

  • Your procedure will begin to oxidize immediately and up to 3-4 days. This causes pigment to become darker. Do not be alarmed, this dark color will flake off revealing the healed pigment that is in your skin.

  • Please do not pick, scratch, or rub the area or make any attempt to remove the crusty material. Removal of the crusts may result in removal of the actual pigment. As you apply ointment it is normal to see pigment sloughing off on your Q-tip.

  • Most normal activity can be resumed immediately. With the exception of heavy exercise. Sweating will interfere with the healing process. On day four you may do light exercise but please try to keep your body temperature down until your PM has healed.

  • Keep water from the area as best that you can for at least 48 hours and do not saturate area with water for first week of healing.

  • Stay out of the sun! If you must be out and about, wear a hat and sunglasses. Sweating and a rise in body temperature interferes with healing.

  • Do not use any face creams, exfoliates, or harsh cleansers around your PM area during the healing process.

  •
Other fading or loss of pigment may occur. Some flaking off of the pigment is normal and will be touched up on your second visit.

  • Judgment of your final results should be deferred until one month following the procedure. Over the next two to three weeks the pigment intensity will change quite a bit.

Special Post Treatment Instructions for Eyebrows:

  • Your brows will be much darker until they start to slough off the surface layer. Some flaking will occur and will require a second appointment one month after the initial application. If your brows feel very dry and flaky you may apply a third application mid day.

Special Post Treatment Instructions for Eyeliner:

  • You should expect a certain amount of crusting around the eyelashes in the morning and slight swelling of the eyelids. Some pigment may be expected to flake off from the lid during the first post procedural day and may be dabbed with a clean tissue.

  • It is ok to clean around the eyelids following the procedure with Q- tips but under no circumstance should eyes be submersed in water. Baths, showers, and swimming are permitted as long as the face does not become wet. After two weeks or after the pigment heals, whichever comes first, you may resume all normal methods of swimming and bathing.

  •
Contact lenses may be resumed usually in one to two day at your discretion.

Special Post Treatment Instructions for Lips:

  • Be gentle with your lips for the next few days, they will be prone to dryness andslight swelling (due to some natural formation of collagen after the procedure). Extra care should be taken while eating and drinking during the healing process to prevent any damage to your lips.

  • If you are prone to cold sore please obtain a prescription from your Doctor or use L-Lysine, an over the counter amino acid. This will help prevent or lessen the possibility of an outbreak.

  • Lips are the most challenging with aftercare because we have to eat, drink and talk. Keeping them lubricated with a third mid day application of healing salve will help.

  • Most lip applications require two-three appointments to develop the color density desired.
