Hello
Whether you have an appointment scheduled with me, or you are thinking about Permanent Makeup, knowing what you can do prior to your session is important. Please read the following information and reach out to me if you have questions.
Getting Prepared for your Appointment...
PRIOR TO YOUR PERMANENT MAKEUP APPOINTMENT:
First of all…TRY AND RELAX:)
You are in good hands! I will do my best to make you comfortable during your procedure.
-
I numb you with Lidocaine so there is minimal pain.
-
I use the Softtap method. No machine is used so there will be less pain.
-
We will discuss at length the shape and color of the look you desire. There will be no surprises for you.
-
Permanent make up pigments are not implanted as deep into the skin as a traditional body tattoo. This allows for healed results of fine hair lines and soft shadowing.
-
Pigment retention varies depending on lifestyles, skin type, age, aftercare, immune system, medications, certain chemicals.
-
Please allow three hours for your first visit.
-
A second appointment is needed within one month for best results.
-
I use only the best quality pigments from Softaps.com that heal true to color.
-
All materials used during each and every appointment are 100% disposable and sterile.
-
I strictly adhere to both Florida Public Health and OSHA guidelines for proper infection control practices.
-
If you have PM already from another artist the results may vary and this may be considered color corrective work. I will discuss this with you during your appointment.
-
To ensure best results:Make sure you are in good health: body and mind. You want to be well, to heal well.
-
24 hours before your appointment avoid alcohol and aspirin/blood thinners.
-
Botox and Restylane should be avoided two weeks prior and one month after.
-
If you use exfoliating skin products like Retin-A please avoid applying it to your forehead for brows, or around your mouth or chin for lips, for up to 30 days prior to appointment and during healing period.
-
On the day of your appointment: Wash your hair in the morning as you will need to avoid water for several days. Baths are recommended.
-
For lip procedures: If you are prone to cold sores please take an over the counter L-Lysine supplement one to two weeks prior to your appointment and as you heal.
-
For eyeliner: If you wear contacts, please bring your glasses.
-
Please allow yourself time after the appointment to care for your new makeup.
-
Your makeup will be much darker for the first 7-14 days.
-
You will be applying healing salve on the area and may be a little sore.
-
Give yourself 7 days without any important events because you cannot wear other makeup around the area.
-
Do not do intense exercise, go to beach or pool, do excessive cleaning (dusty atmospheres), or go to massage/chiropractor visits during this healing process.
I am looking forward to taking care of you! Please call or text with any questions you may have.
-Amy Joy
